Germany and the Finnish defense company Patria have signed a significant contract for the development of the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme. This new agreement, valued at approximately €50 million, involves the construction of two key variants: the CAVS NEMO and the CAVS mortar command and control variant.
The work package includes integrating these new variants with German mission systems and conducting extensive qualification processes to ensure they meet the Bundeswehr’s operational standards. The NEMO variant will feature Patria’s advanced 120 mm turreted mortar system, mounted on the Patria 6×6 armoured vehicle. Both the mortar system and the armoured vehicle are recognised as leading solutions in their respective fields.
This contract is expected to significantly enhance system interoperability and capabilities, benefiting not only the Bundeswehr but also other current and future participants in the CAVS programme. Patria’s involvement is poised to accomplish substantial advancements in armoured vehicle technology, reinforcing the defense capabilities of Germany and its allies.
By spearheading this initiative, Patria continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing cutting-edge defense solutions and maintaining robust partnerships within the European defense sector.
