Finnish technology company Insta exhibited its Insta Steel Eagle™, an innovative unmanned drone defense solution designed for demanding conditions. This system integrates a drone with a patented explosive charge containing steel or tungsten shrapnel. The drone transports the charge above a target, where it detonates, dispersing fragments over a wide area to strike from above.
The explosive effect can be adjusted by varying the drone’s altitude, offering a significant improvement over traditional mortar or artillery fire. The system complies with international conventions ratified by Finland, including the Ottawa and Geneva Conventions.
Nordic Drones Oy developed the customizable drone platform, while Leijona Instituutti Oy, part of Insta’s Defense business, designed the explosive charge. Oy Forcit Ab is responsible for charge production.
