Global Visibility for Nordic Innovations

Chalmers Ventures Accelerates Sweden’s Deep Tech Momentum

Chalmers Ventures, Gothenburg’s powerhouse for early-stage innovation, has opened the 2025 autumn season with a series of high-impact achievements across quantum technology, sustainable energy, and health innovation — underlining West Sweden’s growing role in Europe’s deep tech transformation.

Quantum Wins and Global Recognition

The spotlight this month fell on Arkeon Technologies, a Chalmers-born quantum startup that captured both Startup of the Year and Game Changer awards at Venture Cup Sverige 2025. Founded by Peter Hörstedt and Andreas Nylanderout of the Wallenberg Centre for Quantum Technology (WACQT), Arkeon develops scalable superconducting quantum processors built on the same tunnelling-junction breakthroughs recognised by this year’s Nobel Prize in Physics. The dual awards mark another milestone for Sweden’s rapidly advancing quantum ecosystem — and highlight Chalmers Ventures’ ability to nurture world-class research into globally competitive companies.

Smarter Buildings, Stronger Leadership

In portfolio news, Sanna Parvaneh has been appointed CEO of SINOM, a fast-growing developer of digital tools for smart and sustainable building management. Having served as Chief Commercial Officer, Parvaneh now leads the company while founders Amir Farahani and Claudio Nägeli focus on technology and product development. SINOM is positioning itself to set new industry standards for data-driven energy efficiency across the Nordic property sector.

Energy Innovation Across West Sweden

Chalmers Ventures also announced its participation in Energo Booster, a new regional collaboration aimed at accelerating sustainable-energy startups. Partnering with Innovatum Science ParkBorås INKGU VenturesScience Park Jönköpings län, and Chalmers Industriteknik, the initiative links SMEs with investors, expertise, and global energy networks in cooperation with the Swedish Energy Agency International. The goal: to turn West Sweden into a leading hub for commercialising green energy innovation.

Deep Tech Meets Health Innovation

Meanwhile, Atley Solutions is enabling a medical breakthrough in collaboration with UMC Utrecht and the Princess Máxima Center. Its Atley C100 module supports the world’s first Astatine-211-based pediatric cancer therapy — a treatment expected to replace week-long isolation with safe same-day outpatient care.

CEO Perspective

Reflecting on a dynamic year, CEO Pontus Ottosson pointed to Gothenburg Tech Week and Nordic Life Science Days as evidence of the region’s vitality: “We invest early, develop deeply, and always think long term.”

From quantum circuits to sustainable cities, Chalmers Ventures continues to prove how Nordic research excellence can scale into world-changing innovation.
