Rester Oy – Innovative Mechanical Textile Recycling Company

Rester Oy, established in 2019, is a Finnish company specializing in textile recycling solutions. The are in the business of recovering textiles, like end-of-life garments, uniforms, and workwear, into new fibers and high-quality raw materials.

Operating the largest mechanical textile recycling facility in Northern Europe, Rester processes cotton, polyester, wool, polypropylene, and mixed textiles. They then use the  recovered fibers to manufacture yarn, fabric, and non-woven materials like insulation, acoustic panels, and filter fabrics.

In January 2025, they secured €4.9 million in a second funding round to accelerate growth by expanding their international customer base, advancing product development initiatives, and enhancing automation processes.

Rester’s commitment to circular economy principles is reflected in partnerships with companies seeking sustainable solutions for textile waste – like Marimeko, Lindström, and many other Nordic companies. By transforming end-of-life textiles into valuable raw materials, Rester contributes to reducing the demand for virgin materials, thereby conserving natural resources and lowering carbon dioxide emissions.
